63rd Southwestern Regional Conference
The Southwestern Regional Conference
was held in Dallas, Texas, March 11-14,
2010, and hosted by Psi Chapter.

The Conference got off to a great start with
the Leadership Forum with Assistant SWR
Director Willie Myers presiding and Past
National President Lillian Parker serving as
moderator.  The theme was “21st Century
Sisterhood:  Change”.  Topics presented
included: "Addressing The Glass Ceiling
through Awareness and Participation" -
LaToya Randle, "What's in a Brand?" -
Dawn Mann, "Technology:  Friend or Foe" -
Wendy Jacques, "Outside of the Box
Thinking" - Evelyn Mosley, and "What's Your
Role In Iota" - Janie Samuels.

The Educational Luncheon was held on
Saturday with C
harlotte Berry, SWR Director
serving as Mistress of Ceremony.  
Dr. Doris Browning-Austin, National President, was the Speaker of the hour.  During our Educational Luncheon this year, we honored Ms.
Marian A. Willard for her service and dedication to the youth of the Dallas Community.  Ms. Willard is the principal of the "The Great" James
Madison High School where she believes in bringing out the best in her students and everyone associated with them including faculty, staff
and parents.  Congratulations to our SWR Scholarship Recipient for Alpha Kappa Chapter and our SWR Essay Winners, Anbrianna and
James Roberson from Psi Chapter.


After taking care of Iota’s business for a day and a half, it was time to recognize and celebrate our accomplishments.  The Awards Night
theme was “E
merald & Pearls Elegance”.  Sorors wore dressed in beautiful emerald attire with elegant pearls to accent.  So of our Awards

The
63rd Southwestern Regional Conference was a success. The entire Iota Family was in attendance, Pelatis, Men Of Iota and the Future Iota Leaders Auxiliaries.  If you did not attend the Conference, you missed meeting and greeting our National President, National Secretary,
mingling with old and new Sorors, taking care of Iota business, and exploring the great city of D
allas.  Next year...Shreveport!
